Denomination : Barbera d'Asti DOCG .
Grapes: Produced with 100% Barbera grapes from late harvest in the vineyard hills owned by Rocchetta Tanaro.
In the cellar: Maceration on the skins takes place for 20 days at a controlled temperature. The wine matures for 15 months in oak barrels and then ages in the bottle for a year.
Tasting: Very intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. Broad, rich and complex aroma, with numerous hints of fruit and background notes of vanilla, liquorice and cocoa. Full, powerful flavour, with great structure, but at the same time elegant and sensual, harmonious and very persistent. Accompanies large meat dishes, roasts, even with sauces, mature cheeses.
Service: Serve at 18°.

On 16 October 1989, against everyone's opinion, Giacomo Bologna made a late harvest of Barbera. “Ai Suma”, here we are, he said when he tasted the wine: a new Barbera Braida was born from his foresight and stubbornness. Since '89 it has only been produced in the best years.
